Octopus Real Estate has completed a £22 million loan secured on a 48-acre site with planning consent for the development of 400 new homes in Ashford, Kent.

Octopus Real Estate has provided a £16.5m loan on a ground up development of over 120 homes on sites in Witchford, Cambridgeshire and Pershore, Worcestershire. Both sites benefit from full planning permission; the Witchford site will see 46 houses developed – 32 private 14 affordable – and the Pershore site 75 houses - 45 private and 30 affordable

Octopus Real Estate has provided an £11m loan on a ground up development of a 71-bed elderly care home in Bedhampton, Hampshire. The property is currently a cleared 1.6-acre site that benefits from full planning permission to build a new care home over three levels. The care home is designed to deliver superior levels of care in order to create the best asset in the catchment area.

Octopus Capital has agreed a funding partnership with Bayview Asset Management, an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit, to provide two-to-five-year senior investment debt to the UK Commercial Real Estate market. It will initially commit £450 million.

Octopus Capital announce the appointment of Jennifer Ockwell as Head of Institutional. Jennifer will be responsible for co-ordinating Octopus’ global institutional strategy as it continues to expand its offering to institutional investors.

Octopus Capital, has completed an £8.45 million loan secured on a hotel with spa and health club, golf course and various amenities.

The loan has refinanced Winslade Park and will provide additional funds to the borrower as they deliver the refurbishment and letting of further phases.

Silbury Finance (“Silbury”), the development lender backed by Oaktree Capital Management, has provided the UK Retirement Living Fund (“ReLF” or the “Fund”),which is managed by Schroders Capital and advised by Octopus Real Estate, with a £39.3 million senior loan to fund the development of a retirement village in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent.  Comprising 89 high quality for-sale homes, the scheme is a second project to be developed by the joint venture (“JV”) between ReLF and Elysian Residences (“Elysian”), the UK luxury retirement living specialists.

Octopus Capital, has announced that it will commence commercial lending in the Republic of Ireland, as it looks to expand beyond mainland UK

Octopus Capital have partnered with Homes England, the Government’s housing delivery agency, to create the Greener Homes Alliance. The new Alliance commits £175 million, providing both loan finance and expert support to SME housebuilders, enabling them to build more high quality, energy efficient homes throughout England.

Octopus Capital has completed a £10 million loan secured on a prime development site with planning consent for a 327-unit apartment block, in central Manchester. The lender provided both the asset loan and a VAT loan for the acquisition.

Silbury Finance the development lender backed by Oaktree Capital Management, has provided the UK Retirement Living Fund which is managed by Schroders Capital and advised by Octopus Real Estate, with a £55 million senior loan to fund the development of a luxury retirement village. The 103-apartment scheme in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, is a joint venture between ReLF and Elysian Residences, the UK luxury retirement living specialists.
