Octopus Capital appoints Bennett Construction for two retirement living schemes in Surrey and Oxfordshire, delivering over 200 homes and addressing the UK’s shortage of retirement housing.

The Right Hon. Steve Reed, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, visited Carpenters Yard, a landmark new neighbourhood comprising 113 market-leading sustainable homes in Thornwood, Epping Forest to mark the formal launch of the world’s largest community microgrid.

Coverage in the BBC: Octopus Capital funded the developers GS8 through its "Greener Homes Alliance" scheme, to build 113 homes in Epping, Essex. Through partnership with Octopus Energy, all the homes, 35 of which are Octopus Capital affordable homes, are 'Zero Bills’, meaning residents will have no energy bills for or a minimum of five to ten years.

Octopus Capital, a leading UK specialist real estate lender and investor, has agreed a forward funding deal to support the delivery of 82 new affordable homes across Northam and Bideford in North Devon.

Across Spain, the need for affordable homes has never been clearer. Population growth is at its fastest in over a decade, rents have climbed by nearly half since 2015, and ownership is slipping further out of reach for many young people and families.
